DADD FULLY SUPPORTS THE CHOICE OF ADULTS WE SERVE TO RESIDE IN THEIR FAMILY HOMES. For many families in the rural farming communities where we live, extended family units are a cultural norm or tradition, and often, an economic necessity and families often feel a deep need to support their special needs member. The Coordinated Family Support Service is designed to provide necessary assistance to help make that living arrangement as successful as possible – for both the adult and family members who reside together. We measure “successful living in a household” by standards such as: A successful family is a unit that is unified in its overall purpose, respectful and supportive of each member, able to reside in relative peace and harmony, and one where its members are willing to sacrifice for the family and contribute to its greater cause. For families impacted by intellectual or developmental issues these ideals often times are challenging to attain or to maintain. The Coordinated Family Support Service is designed to assist family members to live together as efficiently and harmoniously as possible and supports families in the following areas:
